Essential Tools - Step 1
These are the essential tools we find every client should have, and which we trust will increase your sales. For each tool we give you a few options, make your own choices, trust your instinct. These are tools we've used and use ourselves, so we feel happy to recommend them. We can't give professional advice, and you should ensure you can afford to buy or use them, as they aren't suitable for everyone.
Something to take Notes
People often make excuses of not remembering, forgetting what they'd said, and not documentating what they are doing.
Pen and Paper - it works, we find a small notebook and pen, that you can keep with you at all times is good.
A Mobile Phone - this works if you have a phone and it's charged up, the catch is people can't type that fast... but many can now record voice as well. (if you haven't got a mobile phone see below)
Computer / Laptop program - Using a program on a computer or laptop (If you haven't got a laptop see below)
In the western world a laptop is an essential business tool for many people - you don't have to have one, but it does let you access so much more. you have a few real choices, to go Mac or PC..

Email and Autoresponder
Being able to send people emails is a big essential tool in the modern era. There are now lots of free internet services, we recommend using Googlemail, but Microsoft have good offerings, as does Yahoo.
In conjunction with a real email account that you can use, being able to send people emails, and build relationships over a period of time is an amazingly effective tool, you can achieve this by hand, but an autoresponder lets you send these messages automatically. If you haven't used one, you'll love it. If you have one but it's not working as well as you'd like, or you're not really getting results, then we'd suggest you try 1 Shopping Cart it's the tool we use and we think it's an essential business tool.
